When his idyllic life is threatened by a high-tech assassin, former black-ops agent Frank Moses reassembles his old team in a last ditch effort to survive. Red stars: Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, Karl Urban, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren This past week I had the pleasure of sitting down with one of the stars of Red. I am talking about the talented Karl Urban. Karl is one of those actors who has worked in both TV and film and been successful in both. Whether you were a fan of his work in Xena or of his role as Dr. Leonard 'Bones' McCoy in last years Star Trek, make no mistake he still can surprise with each and every role.
While our time may have been brief, it was evident of Karl's excitement for his new movie Red. Karl surprised a very anxious and packed Dallas crowd for the Red premiere with his appearance and took time to say hi to the fans and was seen signing for those who asked. FoF: Thank you for taking time tonight to sit down with the FoF. We really appreciate it. Karl Urban: Thank you. FoF: Tell us about your character in Red, William Cooper? Karl Urban: I play the character of William Cooper. William is a CIA officier and it is my job to hunt down Bruce Willis and liquidate him. FoF: What does it mean to you to be able to see a premiere with your fans and be able to interact with them afterwards? Karl Urban: It is great, I always enjoy meeting the fans. Movies/cinema is not like theater. In theater you get an instant response and know when an audience likes it or not. It is always great when you get the opportunity to meet the fans and hear how they enjoyed the film. FoF: The FoF audience are huge fans of yours. What special message would you like to convey to them? Karl Urban: I just want to say I really hope they enjoy Red. We had a lot of fun making it. It is a great fun ride with a hilarious bunch of actors and enjoy it. FoF: Karl, thank you so much for your time this evening. Karl Urban: Thank you very much. Be sure to check out Red: www.red-themovie.com More highlights from our time with Karl Urban as well as the FoF's review of Red on the next show. Special thanks goes to Karl Urban and all our great friends at Summit Entertainment for this opportunity. Red opens nationwide on Friday, October 15th. Be sure to make your plans now to see it. |
